Live Results:
Welcome to Maine! We have mostly sunny skies at 5:00 p.m. Winds are
variable from the southeast. The humidity is very low and temperatures are
in the mid 70's F. Temperatures will steadily get cooler as the evening
wears on. Forecasters had called for some showers, but it looks as though
they have missed us.
HS Girls: Briana Neault took the lead right from the gun, but Erin
Herbig caught her in the home straight on the first lap. Herbig led for
most of the race, but was caught by Neault in the last 150 meters who got
the win.
HS Boys: James Maleck took the race out early, but was reeled in on
the far curve at 500 meters by Colin Pile and Matt Mellen. Pile and Mellen
duked it out for the win, with Pile prevailing in only the last 100 meters.

RESULTS: HS Girls:Kayla Hardecker had a small lead after the first quarter,
hitting it at 74. Shalane Flanagan is close behind. Flanagan joins
HS Boys: Ben Fletcher made a HUGE move in the last lap on the far
turn and overhauled Bill Spierdowis to win in 4:16.67, a meet record. He
ran his last 400m in 59.7. RESULTS:
Hardecker on the back straight, and then assumes the lead. It's Flanagan
through the halfway point in 2:24. Flanagan is building her lead and leads
at the three quarter mark in 3:54. It's Flanagan unchallenged for the win
in 5:13.30. RESULTS:

Debbie Marshall and Alisa Harvey. The two were shoulder to shoulder on the
back straight, with Marshall only prevailing in the last 100 meters. Her

800m - Men (section 1):Ned Brooks took the pack through at 53.76, but it
was Byron Goodwin who took the lead for good on the back straight. His time

800m - Men (section 2): Trinity Gray shot to the front right away and lead
easily through the halfway point in 51.70. It looked like he was going to
run away from the field, but was chased down by Bryan Woodward at the end
of the back straight. Gray held him off, until the last 50 meters when
Woodward surged ahead for the win. His time of 1:46.57 was just shy of the

5000m - Women:Regina Jacobs has left pacemaker Clare Eichner Taylor past
2000 meters and is running alone. She is still on American record pace. The
crowd is on their feet! Her split at 3000m was 8:52.96!! Jacobs is
stiffening a bit, but is still pushing. She's approaching the 4000m mark.
She hits it in 11:55 flat, still on AR pace!! Jen Rhines and Anne Marie
Lauck are in second and third, respectivly, but are way, way back. Jacobs
is at 13:45.8 with one lap to go. SHE'S GOT IT!!! 14:52.48!!! A new
American record, and she just won a new Volvo S-70. She's holding up the

3000m - Steeplechase Men: The race went quickly from the gun, and came down
to a final sprint on the back straight with George Yiannelis, Tom Nohilly,
and Tony Cosey. Yiannelis was just too much for the other two and prevailed

5000m - Men: Ian Carswell controlled this race from the get-go. He lead
through 1000m (2:43.5) and 2000m (5:28.20). Christian Weber grabbed the
lead at 3000m (8:16.20), but Carswell was right with him, and soon regained
the lead. At 4000m Carswell was totally in control (11:01.8) and was well
under record pace. Gary Stolz made it interesting on the final turn,
surging past Mike Mykytok to grab second place. Mykytok held on for third.

for the first half in 2:15.7. At the three quarter mark O'Krane is still
leading with Kathy Franey Fleming on her shoulder (3:24.6). Franey Fleming
assumes the lead, but O'Krane stayes right with her. On the far turn
O'Krane surges past Franey Fleming. Franey responds, but can't catch her.
It's O'Krane for the win, breaking the meet record in 4:30.7 (unofficial).

mile in only the first section of the meet: 4:00.21. That's the fastest
mile ever run in the state of Maine. Unfortunately for him, the record will

pacemaker and goes right to the front. He leads Jason Pyrah in the first
quarter in 57.28. Stallings is off at the half and Pyrah is alone in front.
He broke the half in 1:57.00. Pyrah has a 20m lead! He's at 2:57.56 at the
three quarter mark. Pyrah is not tying up on the back straight. He wins in
